6. Project Meeting

The sixth project meeting from 16.02.2022 to 17.02.2022 was again a virtual meeting due to the Corona pandemic. In the course of the meeting, the expert opinions (reviews) of the manual and revisions were discussed.

5. Project Meeting

The fifth project meeting was a hybrid meeting (some project partners participated in attendance, others virtually). The reason for this was the Corona pandemic. The meeting took place from 29.09.2021 to 30.09.2021 at the University of Salzburg.

In the course of the meeting, the introductory chapter of the handbook was discussed, and the first examples of book chapter 7 (teaching examples with teaching material) were planned. As a further point, the schedule and program of the Multiplier Event was planned. In addition, the first modules for teacher training and suitable evaluation instruments were created.

4. Project Meeting

The fourth project meeting was again a virtual meeting, it took place on 08.04.2021 and on 09.04.2021.

The meeting served to revise and discuss the various chapters of the manual. In addition, initial ideas for the seminars and in-service teacher training events on differentiation in inquiry-based learning were collected and discussed.

3. Project Meeting

From 01.12.2020 to 02.12.2020 the third project meeting took place.

The project meeting was a virtual meeting! The reasons for this were the restrictions imposed by the Corona pandemic.

In the meeting, the first written chapters of the manual were discussed and points for revision were identified. In addition, ideas for the development of the differentiation concept for inquiry-based learning were discussed. The concept was concretized and chapters on the differentiation concept were divided into working groups. In addition, the schedule had to be adjusted due to the Corona situation.

2. Project Meeting

The second project meeting was held at the University of Jyväskylä (Finland) from the 17th to the 20th February 2020. During the project meeting the results of the interviews were discussed and transnational conclusions were drawn. The formats of open experimentation and possibilities of differentiation were discussed in workshops taking into consideration the applicability in the school context. The results made it possible to structure the manual that is currently being written.

Kick-off Meeting Heidelberg

On 31.10. and 01.11.2019 the kick-off meeting of the project took place in Heidelberg (Germany).

Aims of the kick-off meeting were:

(1) Start with the developing of the differentiation concept (part of Intellectual Output 1)

(2) Planning the manual (Intellectual Output 1)

(3) Developing a semi-structured interview to analyse the possibilities and limitations of supporting differentiation activities in inquiry-based learning with a focus on experimentation at school

During the meeting details of the differentiation concept were discussed (What exactly is an experiment? Which steps are included in the inquiry-cycle?), concrete dates for the project meetings and classroom observations were arranged, criteria of the classroom observations discussed and an interview guide for the semi-structured interviews was developed.

Members of the project meeting were: Pasi Nieminen (University Jyväskyla, Finland), Antti Lehtinen (University Jyväskyla, Finland), Iris Schiffl (University Salzburg Austria), Lisa Virtbauer (University Salzburg, Austria), Nikoletta Xenofontos (University of Cyprus), Marios Papaevripidou (University of Cyprus), Martina Schuhknecht (Gemeinschaftsschule Innenstadt Ludwigsburg, partner school in Germany), Susanne Rohrmann (University of Education Heidelberg, Germany), Armin Baur (University of Education Heidelberg, Germany)
